The Family Place Staff
Sandra Vieira - Executive Director
Sandra Vieira started working at The Family Place on August 10, 2015. She is the Executive Director of the organization. Prior to starting at The Family Place, Sandra worked at a child care organization in Caledon for over 23 years.
Sandra has her Early Childhood Educator Diploma from Humber College. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Sandra is currently working towards her Disability Studies degree at Ryerson University.
Sandra believes that children benefit when we work hand in hand with families and collaborate with community partners to support their growth and development. “I believe we offer a place where our children, their families, our staff, and our community partners feel a sense of belonging.”
Kelly Bomans - Supervisor, Milton Centre
Kelly Bomans started working at The Family Place on July 31, 1995. She was our Preschool teacher in our Oakville centre for 2 years, then became the Supervisor for our Milton centre in 1997. She has been working at The Family Place for over 25 years.
Kelly has her Bachelor of Arts in Child Studies from Brock University, with her Early Childhood Educators equivalency. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with the College of Early Childhood Educators and belongs to the Association of Early Childhood Educators.
Kelly believes that the early years are the most important. “We help set the groundwork for future learning. There is no bigger privilege than to be a part of a child’s life.”
Wendy Wells - Supervisor, Oakville Centre
Wendy Wells started working at The Family Place on July 4, 1995. She has been the Supervisor at our Oakville centre for over 25 years.
Wendy has her Early Childhood Educator Diploma from Sheridan College. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with the College of Early Childhood Educators and belongs to the Association of Early Childhood Educators. Wendy has taught courses at Sheridan College for the Early Childhood Educator course.
Wendy believes that each child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. “I will help them to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals.”
